This review is from: Shimano Spirex RG Spinning Reel (6.2:1) (Sports)
It does what it’s intended to do , and that’s “be fast”. Trigger cast works and feels good but sometimes the line will loop around the trigger when closing the bail and lock up. It has an amazing retrieve speed because of the higher gear ratio but that makes it harder to crank and thus making it harder to trip the bail. The dual crank handle makes it easy to quickly grab a knob after casting (although I wish the span was longer). The rear drag system has the lever for fast adjustments and a knob for fine adjustments. The anti line twisting gizmo does seem to be doing something, it still spins line just not as much as my other spinning reels. The frame on this does not feel as strong as my other reels.

These reels are getting harder to find. Not sure if Shimano will continue the rear drag or not but I hope so. I was happy to find these on here as they are the wife’s favorite and you know women, once the set their mind on something. Have a gpod supply now and by the time she needs new ones, we’ll see what else is out there.

Put on an ultra light rod and love the balance and drag system and the fighting drag lever.
